10 bucks says doctors could get a lot of VIP treatment in Vegas...and probably alllll the honeys.
I wonder why more don't live in Vegas.

I too am moving to Las Vegas with a health issue. I need warm and dry which means the south west was pretty much my target. Is it to much to expect that a city of this size would also have proper medical care for its citizens. NO I'm not talking about them paying for it, but how about marketing the city in such a manner that appeals to physicians?
I can't believe that as a resident you would not advocate for better health care for your community. Ridiculous.

itc...as olecapt pointed out, I'm not a resident of LV. Please check the date on that post (12-04-2007)...somebody dug deep down into the archives to pull this one out!
Back then, I was very argumentive about LV. Three months later (in March 2008) the top brass (Olecapt, The Admiral, MomMom, Guinessjim, Daveyjones978, and Aqualung) ordered me and my wife to report to Bootlegger's Tavern so they could straighten out my attitude and prove that LV was just like anywhere else. They literally strong-armed me and Mrs O, torturing us with kindness, and generally brainwashed us into the thinking that LV (and its residents) are really ok. That, with a few pints of ale, seemed to do the trick. I've since mellowed my stance on LV (at least I think so?)
Anyway...If you happened to have just read a few more posts below the one you quoted, you would have seen a more humanistic and sympathetic retraction.

I'm still perplexed.
Why wouldn't a doctor WANT to live in Vegas? Plenty of people to treat, plenty of fun to spend all his money on, probably a VIP everywhere he goes, a lot of upscale housing, plenty of pretty ladies if he's a guy...

Wow, what posts to come home too!
LV never has and never will be a city for innovative medicine and top notch health care. Malpractice insurance premiums are exorbitantly high and that scares a lot of doctors away, along with medical insurance (in particular the culinary union) not paying enough to the doctors to keep them profitable.
However, there is GOOD healthcare and GOOD hospitals and lots of really good doctors. Homework and research is key to finding the good ones.
Before anyone with a particular medical condition moves to LV, they should first do their research and communicate with a doctor specialized in the field of medicine that they need. Ask questions..ask if the doctor is moving, closing up practice, check out complaints (if any) online, etc....BEFORE YOU MOVE. Make selecting your doctor and a close by hospital one of your priorities during your pre-move trip to LV, when you are lining up areas/homes/rentals, etc.
As to the jfk comment...

You will get used to it. Because they leave their money here they feel some ownership. Humor them.

Yeah, it's about time that we bend his arm again, DDO style.
Lex, sigh... How many times do we have to tell you that Vegas isn't all about partying, and the exchange of bodily fluids with the gender(s)/specie(s) of your choice? Please, save it for the marks. Some of us actually do enjoy quite time with family and friends.
