Was afraid lack of rain this year would be a big factor. But even in a dry year you get quite a few comparatively speaking.

Valley of Fire is outstanding. Red Rock? Meh. Way too many people for the size and not really that much red rock considering the name or in comparison...

There are the yellow wild flowers in bloom now @ visitors center in valley of fire. Not very many though. Many of the locations in SoCal listed in the Above link I was fortunate to see.
The colors either exploded or were bright, large & stark. One park outside of inland San Diego county was crowned by a rainbow. Wish one of the photographers here had taken a photo
Honestly, I've never seen such quality (aside from museums & artsy boutiques ) as I have seen on this forum.
I tell people about this forum all the time but they don't seem interested. ??????
