My husband and I will be visiting family in Vegas the first weekend in May when mayweather is fighting. He and I both like to watch the fights. This will be my husbands first time in Vegas. I know we could buy it on PPV but we are really looking for a cool spot to catch the fight along with some nightlife since our time in town will be limited, preferably on or near the strip. We are around 30 years old, if that makes any difference to the type of spots you would recommend. Any ideas? Thanks!

Any MGM grand property, probably MGM itself for the best 'experience'. Those fights are closed circuit viewing so MGM properties usually have some type of viewing event and/or exclusive rights. Closer to fight night check with McFadden's Irish bar (town square.... about 1-2 miles from Mandalay Bay).... they might show the fight.

Awesome. I was thinking that might be the case about MGM but didn't know. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, Exaday. Can I ask why you think NY NY would be good?
I've never been in Vegas for a fight so I have no idea what kind of accommodations, TVs, events, etc that these places will have.

If you guys are fight fans, I suggest checking out the weigh in at MGM , usually free (first come first serve). That's a cool experience .

I saw Mayweather at Versace recently with his big body guards.

Personally I think all his fights are rigged, and set up in his favor (it all comes down to $$$)

I look forward to the day Mayweather gets knocked out of the ring for good.

I've been there a couple of times, it's right across from the event itself so that kind of makes it special in a way. I guess it don't matter to much to be honest. You go in a special room where they show the fight, they sell drinks and food and your're with other fight fans. Like a private party I guess.

You're in the middle of all the excitement I feel like. After the fight you can go walk outside and get some air and feel the excitement in the air.

Thanks! That's just what I was looking for. We want the excitement with other fight fans.

FML157, I would love to see the weighing but we won't be arriving in town until the day of the fight.

Cityking, maybe you're right about them being rigged. And I can understand anyone's dislike of mayweather. Either way, we enjoy the "show."

One more question exaday- does that private room in NYNY cost? And would we need to purchase tickets in advance? If so, that's ok. I just need to plan. Thanks!
