Watching the late news in NYC. Apparently someone threw a shoe at Hillary Clinton at an event in Vegas. Don't have a link yet. I'll post one when I find one.

Edit: Found one

I'm saddened by this. Something so great, ruined by impulse.
This is highly regrettable. I loved those shoes, now I'll never be able to wear them again.

Weird - Though I think Hilary got a few points out of it.

One would possibly take another more seriously if they would actually use a person's name when referring to them instead of a slang term.

As far as the shoe throwing goes, I doubt it had much impact on her and people either support her or don't and this incident will probably not change their opinion of Hilary Clinton or her agenda.

Would you have been happier if she actually had been hit?

I'd be happier if the Secret Service made an example of the shoe thrower. Don't agree with someone? Write a retort. Take up debate. Run for office. Shoe throwing? That's amateur hour.

I also don't agree with the pie-in-the-face "Bakers Without Borders" movement. It's freakin' stupid.

You want to know how many retorts I've written to varying politicians? A lot.
How am I to secure a debate with a politician? I'd have an easier time milking a dead man.
On the rare occasion civilians get to ask a politician a question, or two, they will blatantly ignore anything other than a softball. They will straight up walk away from a hardball question. This is documented on numerous videos.

I would love nothing more than to become an elected official, however, as Douglas Adams so eloquently quipped,
"Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."

I am not capable of getting myself elected. The things required of an individual to do so, are so far outside of my moral comfort zone, I could fit the Moon between the outer edge of my moral limit, and the most moral thing done on the campaign trail.

Hillary Clinton dodges shoe during Las Vegas speech
Sorry, I know this could have happened anywhere, but this kind of asinine behavior certainly doesn't help cast a positive light on the sophistication level of the Las Vegas population.

Totally inappropriate IMHO.
