not trying to scare you away; just being realistic. No matter where you move, you should have plenty of money in the bank, especially if you arrive without a job.
And another consideration with your condo search - HOA fees. They can vary widely depending on amenities, property size, number of units, etc. So the mortgage for a $50K condo might be affordable but will it be if you tack on a few hundred in HOA dues? So before you get too excited about a particular unit, be sure to inquire about the dues.

If you're serious about moving here, come out for a week, drive around and check out areas, line up a couple of realtors to show you some properties.

50k in Summerlin? No. 50k in other places that are decent? Sure.

OP there is some resentment towards Summerlin from time to time on these boards but its basically because there are MANY nice areas throught the Valley.
Don't limit yourself to one area.

I personally would avoid low priced condo listings (in most cases) in Summerlin...you will be buying location and little else.
