The word for the day (everyday in Las Vegas) is "hypocrite".

The funny thing is, it's our visitors that think they are going to be able to "sin" when they come here, and our marketing slogans lure them here. I imagine many of them are disappointed when they find we locals aren't all that "sinful". But these same people who come here looking to take part in "sin" are the ones who talk about what a terrible city Las Vegas is.

Can you say "hypocrite", boys and girls? Sure you can.

The Mormons are most definitely the most powerful church in Vegas and they do preach against gambling for their members. But they are such practical power mongers, its perfectly fine to WORK in a casino, just not to PLAY in it.
