Is Electricity Real CHEAP in Vegas?
I have always noticed all the bright signs and lights there and some of them are on even in the daytime! I know these things have to use a TON of electricity so is electricity really cheap there? I guess that they get most of it for free from the Hoover dam?

Used to be quite cheap. Still not bad but not cheap. The new signs are actually quite efficent. The cost is AC. not lighting.
LV gets little power from Hoover. mostly goes to Californal.

Electric is not cheap at all especially during the summer months. I live in a 1300 sq ft townhouse and my electric bills was $300-$350 during summer months.

Neon is an efficient form of lighting. Even better is the new LED technology that is replacing some of it. But to suggest that the casinos get free electricity is different. They pay just like everyone else.

Of course, the power in LV is cheap. While summers may cost a lot; the things I love about LV is the winters. The last two weeks, I have slept with the sliding glass door to my bedroom open. Of course, the cat froze to death, I got frostbite, and the pipes on the hot tub burst. YES, power in LV is cheap.

Why...how cold has it been there?????? Say...would coming back from Cayman Island last week be a shock to someone's body?
This Global Warming thing is really turning things upside-down!

Highs have been in the low 50's, high 40's, lows in the low 30's to high 20's, depending on area.
