I have tried to look the answer up online (including this forum) with no luck. I know some states require 1 month, some 3 months. What is the duration for Nevada coming from a different state?

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your response blktoptrvl, I guess I should have clarified. This is in order to qualify for an owner-occupied property loan.

Many people in every state purchase homes PRIOR to relocating out of state.
Employment is the factor not residency

Unless your move is part of a transfer within a company (In otherwords same employer but different location) you may meed to establish yourself at your new job for a period before you will qualify for a loan.
ESPECIALLY true I believe if your new job is in a different field.
A lot of variables are involved you really need the advice of an agent who is up on how things work these days.

The only limit would be one imposed by your mortgage lender. In generqal a short period if you are salaried. Couple of years if commission based.

Easy way is to ask a bank. I can recommend one if you like...though they are reasonably easy to find.

We recently talked to a lender asking the same question. We are leaving California soon and would like to buy a house. The bank rep said they could prequalify us within a few months after the move, depending on when my wife and I are able to find jobs and establish a stable income.

There are large numbers of people who buy houses in NV without even living in NV, either for investment, or vacation/future retirement properties. So there's no requirement to even live in NV to buy a home there.

I purchased my townhouse prior to moving to Las Vegas. I was forward deployed in Guam and I did all the financing and escrow online and via fax.
