This nightshifter slept thru it all, awakened at 6:30pm. But I did take a quarter block walk to the Wash and see the water is really racing by, our temporary rivers here in Las Vegas.

Ever little bit is a blessing! Even if this precipitation, which funnels into Lake Mead, raises the lake level even a quarter of an inch, along with the other funneling from the rain received north of us, it all helps!

Southern Utah, its the feeding of the Virgin river that counts, which feeds into Lake Mead! Ever grateful for every drop of rain up there as well!

I have a total aversion to televised news, I guess I'm just old-fashioned, I'm patient enough to read about it in the paper the next day.

But oh my! Up towards Moapa! And the damage to the roadways I read of in the paper this morning.

But, boy, talk about dodging a bullet! 3.29 inches for Phoenix, highest amount of precip. in one day ever, and to the SE, and a mind-boggling 5.63 inches for Chandler and in such a short period of time!

OMG! Imagine! That amount of rain hitting somewhere in our Valley!

Yes, yesterday was total chaos. Most major freeways closed during the AM commute due to flooding. Imagine your car floating away on I-10?

Thanks Hurricane Norbert!

On another board, someone from CO posted that he was seeing snow above the tree line already in the Rockies. Maybe next year will be a good water year for you guys.

Snow was falling above the tree line in mid-August. Doesn't mean anything, it will melt. Start checking snowfall at the end of this month for signs of how good or bad the water season will be.

Craziest flood video from yesterday: NSFW (Language) flash flood on i-15 30 miles north of las vegas - YouTube

No reported deaths, but that couldn't have been good for the guy getting into the minivan before it was swept under the bridge.
