I like Gasbuddy app, as well, if I'm in a different part of town. Normally I just go to Smith's on Eastern/Windmill for the lowest price in that area.

I never thought I'd see $2.xx again.
The link I posted might be the reason why, it may even drop lower but I predict after about a year or two, prices will shoot up to over $5 a gallon everywhere. Only time will tell but for now, enjoy it while we can...just don't go out and buy a Hummer.

Smiths is the best thing going in the valley as far as groceries and gas.

I'm sure gas prices will shoot back up after November. We're nothing if not easily distracted.

Besides, the only place I've noticed charging different prices is Arco. Pretty easy to avoid.
The station the OP is referring to is almost certainly a cash price, the credit price is 10 cents higher.

The Gasbuddy page shows that most stations in Las Vegas have the credit surcharge when you add in the Arcos which don't even take credit. I understand the stations pay more for credit fees so its within their right to surcharge it if they do. Just know its not a common practice for the majority of stations in other major cities outside Nevada and California to add a credit surcharge and also realize this is done not only to make a few more cents per gallon but also to drive up sales of higher margin products in the store.

Gas prices have a long way down to go still. My guess is national average will be around $2.75 by December 1st so prices of around $2.89-$2.99 should be quite common in Las Vegas in a little over a month.

Its funny how people scream gas stations are gouging customers when prices are going up, when in fact gas stations make very little money in a quickly rising market. They accept the loss of profits because at a time like this of falling prices they can recoup lost profits and then some until finally a few stations decide to get competitive again. If a station was really guilty of "gouging" its actually right now when it happens.

I actually talked to the guy at Circle K who manages the pumps. He told me the credit price (at least at his location) was only 5-cents/gallon higher than the cash price. I decided to test him (and his gas pumps) to see if he was being truthful. Sure enough he was correct... right down to a thousandth of a gallon. Don't forget that gas prices all have an extra 9/10ths of a cent to their gallon price.

I guess that's right. Many places put a 10 cent surcharge. Makes sense the Circle K is 5 cents because the 7-11 down the street from the Circle K near South Point charges 5 cents more but its cash or credit price so that would make them about even.

I'm prepared either way. OPEC is following what is going on in Philadelphia, North Dakota, Canada and Texas. They know what they are doing. If oil drops below $80 a barrel, I would start researching CNG/Tesla immediately.(not like I'm not already)

There's not too much they can do. I the Saudis et al yank the production chain, they lose money, which I think they need at this point.
