If I was to rent a room in Las Vegas would it be best if I moved my own bedroom set etc. Or would renting a room that is already furnished be ok? Also if I found a room on craigslist or another site wouldn't it be best if I planned a visit first to look at the room first? Do the people that are advertising the rooms on Craigslist usually check credit and/or ask for proof of employment?

If I decide that I like the room and want to move would I need to drive there? I'd rather just take a plan but then I'd need to take my clothes etc so I'm guessing I'd still need movers.

Why not just take the bare minimum with you so if things don't work out you can go home easily!

The expensive ones are OK. The Siegels are pretty iffy for safety. Especially for a woman living alone.

Rent a room, most often some furniture if you want it. It's a good option if you don't have much. If you need a bed you can always get an air mattress until you decide you will stay and there is no bed.

Some will check credit but many won't. A lot of people who do this look at it as a nice extra bit of cash to use so they are going to be more picky about your lifestyle and what sort of hours and company you keep. They may not be too keen however if it seems like you are just trying the city out and may not stay.
