Sunflower Market on Tropicana is good and I hear Smith's is as well.
I'm going there next week to check it out.

Love International Marketplace - yep, it's just a warehouse, but they sell Australian meat pies, Vegemite, all the essentials

I also like British Foods further north on Decatur, although they are very expensive, and some of the various Indian grocers offer great deals on herbs and spices and carry all sorts of exotic stuff that is strangely absent from US supermarket shelves.

I will repeat what I said in another thread...I thought Fresh and Easy was a big snooze. It is so plain, so small, and so lacking in variety, that I would never go back. If that is the kind of store they have in England, it's no wonder Brits have a reputation for being stoggy and boring. Sorry all you Brits, but it's true. I still love you though, now that we got that little misunderstanding over who owns the area between Mexico and Canada settled. I also disagree about Home Depot. It doesn't suck as much as Lowes. Actually I like the self check out when I don't have a lot and am in a hurry. I can get through it a lot faster faster without those rude people who want to stand and talk to the clerk all day, and take fifteen minutes to write a check.

Thanks for clairifing the location. I dont actually live in LV, I live in Ely, but have to come down once every 4-6 weeks to do my shopping. I pretty much know my way by landmarks, never really learned any of the street names. Almost missed it last time I was there since the Walmart wasnt there anymore.

Fresh and Easy is a great little store. They are a small neighborhood market, that is their advertising. They don't have a big variety because it's meant as a neighborhood market. Remember the old stores from long ago, the corner market. They had just enough to get you by, and many people used to shop at them for their regular food. Those old stores didn't have the selections like Fresh and easy, but you get the idea.
I will go back and they keep sending me $5-$6 off coupons to come back so that's even a better incentive. I just got another $5 off of $20 in the mail today.

Fresh and Easy is owned by the Brit company Tesco's. They decided to open up stores in the US as they were unhappy that Walmart had taken over the ASDA company in the UK. Tesco's is a very big company, with large superstores full of choice in the UK and is anything but boring! They did a lot of research over here and also had a trial store with different layouts and products to see what the Americans would like and the result was the neighbourhood market layout.

I like the Fresh and Easy concept, the packaging and layout is what I am used to. But as the store is small, there is not much choice so I use Trader Joes and Albertsons aswell.

Buzz...I don't know who you have been meeting, but we Brits are anything but boring

I wish I had time to buy a few things here and a few there, but usually I end up at Albertson's and pay through the nose instead. Their self checkouts are nice though.

In a perfect world, I'd buy luxury/organic items at Trader Joe's or Sunflower and basic stuff at Food4Less, but it's just too time consuming.

I had no idea the Rite Aids were closing. I guess since Walgreens came to town, offering lower prices, it was bound to happen.
