Is Henderson nice and family safe for the most part? Meaning are a majority of the neighborhoods decent for the most part? I mean it all seemed real down to earth for me, when I've been there. Any feed back please??? If I relocate to the Vegas area, I more than likely will move to Henderson.

There are bad parts to Henderson but they are few in number and not very bad. Generally south is better and west. South of 215. There are lots of areas of Henderson not south which are fine as well. Check back when you are thinking about picking something.

Then again wouldn't you rather want to talk to someone who actually lived in Henderson for almost 10 years, instead of someone who lives 15 miles away from it?

We moved from Henderson and could never be happier...We started out in Whitney Ranch, never live in an apartment there...absolutely trashy and disgusting...the area around it is not so great either...constant theft at the Target nearby, cops are there everyday like a homeless person near the DTC...traffic is also very bad because of the mall, they removed the benches from the book stores because the homeless were taking residence there...

we also owned a store at Pecos and Windmill which was broken into 3 times...and we weren't the only ones in the shopping center that had that problem...

we lived in Seven Hills, wasn't too bad until they built schools at both entrances of the community, then the promises of shopping centers that were never built, oh yah, and in the same neighborhood a kid was knocking out windows with a baseball bat and another house had a fire because of a kid playing with matches...

we also lived in Green Valley Ranch, couldn't get any sleep because of the noise from the freeway, constant fire engines and police sirens all the time, plus you also had to deal with the school zones, then when the District and Green Valley Ranch Station opened up, the traffic became so horrible and the parking is just ridiculous throughout the whole community, people going to the rec center were parking in the neighborhoods as well as the people who were going to the District and the casino...the parks were so ill-maintained and somebody graffitied and vandalized one of the parks so bad that the HOA closed it down...

Another big problem in Henderson is very unfriendly neighbors, nobody had anything organized, when we moved out to our new neighborhood in Enterprise, there were actual community events, the neighborhood is so quiet even though its next to I-15, its so much quieter than Green Valley Ranch was...

Sounds like someone complains too much You want constant theft and crap go to Cheyenne and Decatur.

Henderson is great, people are great, and everyone is happy. INCLUDING the cops!

I love Henderson, especially the Green Valley area. There's so much out there.

Which city would be the best for raising a family, Henserson or Little Rock?

I'd choose Henderson, simply because I'd go crazy living in Little Rock.

Out here, we do have a family feel for those who want it, but there's also tons to do. It's casual, it's cosmopolitan, it's anything you want it to be. The area is very multi-purpose. There are lots of parks for the kids, and participation in youth sports is really high. There's great dining, shopping, and things to do for a night out all around town (not just on the strip). Lots of festivals and free concerts in the summer. Then there's also, surprisingly, a fair deal of outdoor recreation. Mount Charleston attracts hikers year round, and skiiers in the winter. Lake Mead is a popular water sport destination.

Little Rock is a great place, I'm sure, but there's just so much to do here. It's unreal.
