Had to say I was SHOCKED when I read this story! We are talking about Vegas right?

You would never think something would be “too racy” for the citizens of Las Vegas, but apparently a naked Heidi Klum is. The model’s ads for the Sharper Image have been banned at Vegas’ McCarran International Airport. In the shots, Klum is posed in various states of undress, joined by some Sharper Image products.

The campaign is a problem because there are laws in Clark County against “the showing of the female breast with less than a fully opaque covering or any portion thereof below the nipple.” The goal is to protect families with children, because, you know children and breasts don’t mix. The move has left quite a few people scratching their heads. After all, it is Las Vegas. A little bit of nudity is almost implied once you touch down in the place so fondly nicknamed Sin City. But according to Shauna Forsythe, who screens the ads, she’s just doing what the law says. “We live by the guidelines. Who cares if we think it’s too risque or not? It’s black or white with us,” she told the LA Times.

But all is not lost. The P.R. firm handling the Sharper Image account has supplied the airport with alternative shots, which have been approved. So, people will get to see Heidi Klum in all her (nearly-naked) glory, without compromising everyone’s sense of propriety. Everybody wins! Or do they? We can’t help but wonder why showing breasts above the nipple is A-OK, but a little underboob ruffles so many feathers.

It boggles my mind the things that go on here. The abundance of the religious in sin city. The number of meth addicts in a place so religious. The lack of legal prostitution. The abundance of prostitutes. The banning of open containers. Newspaper machines full of legal porn. But show an ad that's not even as racy as most magazine ads and it sparks outrage. The people running this place, I think, have Alzheimer's and bi polar disorder.

Pretty likely, EA.

The person who originally wrote that headline took some liberties with reality. In other words, only the scandalous images of her are banned from the airport. Heidi Klum herself is allowed in, unless, of course, she is wearing the same thing she is in those pics.

I'm not a fan of TSA. I will however do them a solid and give her some additional screening. No arrest necessary.

You folks just prove what I've always said, you believe the Hollywood version of Las Vegas, and don't know or understand the reality. It's really pretty conservative in Nevada. You all just fall for the hype, which is good for our main industry. Why it should bother us locals that people believe our hype and say things that upset us is the real mystery.

What Buzz said.

The really sad part is I don't know who Heidi Klum is and I am not sure why I should care. Skinny broad with nice boobs. There are 10,000 of those at any instant on the strip. And for a hundred bucks or so you get to feel. But only if you are into skinny broads with nice boobs.

And probably the escrow services accountant is a Mormon....

lvoc, probably half of your clients are Mormon too. Sure you want to go there?

Don't you remember some of the shows that were closed down for being too risqué? Most of them just complied and reopened though. A lot of our County Commissioners have been very conservative. It keeps things in balance.
