Sponge, I think you and I are one if the few people in Vegas that do not worship at the Wynn Church of Benevolence. He (and others like him)could fix so many of the problems here and not even notice the dribble out of his bank account. I just don't get why so many people here think this is ok and they don't think twice about it. But one must have their Popeyes!

We shouldn't have one person taking care of our homeless problem. It should be a joint effort by every tax payer.

How much of your tax dollars are you willing to give up to go towards the issue?

This is the kind of mentality that put the present occupant in the White House.

Wrong.

If the GOP would quit nominating whack jobs, they'd have more success. I'm old enough to remember when the GOP was the more sensible of the two parties. Now it's just yahoos who think Moses rode a dinosaur to work while sleeping with a copy of Atlas Shrugged under their pillow.

Dwight Eisenhower would be laughed out of the Republican party in 2015. And that's why Republicans aren't winning. Their delegates at the primaries are lunatics.

The NV state budget for education is over $6 Billion, doesn't sound like nothing to me.

As far as the homeless, any money spent on them is flushed down the toilet. I'm in NYC. We spend vast amounts of money on them, and we still have them all over the streets.

But bring on a stadium, hell yeah! It is an issue of priorities. Democrats here are not liberals. And casinos do not support the community in any meaningful way. Just ask Mr. Wynn. If it exists in Utah it is because of the Church support there. Republicans believe all charity should be privately provided and recipients must be "deserving" in some benevolent opinion. So there will never be enough. No homes, no health care, no mental health services, no public transport, and food stamp recipients bankrupt the country. The homeless are a symptom, not their own cause.

I find this a little hilarious. The last guy the GOP ran had been governor of a liberal state, and had imposed a health car system their very similar to Obamacare. In point of fact, he was probably more liberal than the bulk of the GOP (which may have been a reason he lost - he didn't exactly inspire the party's base.)

Whack jobs like Bob Dole, McCain, and Romney? Please. These are moderate, limp-wristed, political establishment losers. Spare me the false diatribe how the GOP has moved too far right when it is the Democrat party that has purged all of its more moderate voices. Sam Nunn, John Stennis of yesteryear and Joe Lieberman have no future in the Democrat party. No way JFK would even sniff the presidency now as a member of the Democrat party. A community organizer is in the WH now because of dumbass people having no business near a voting booth showing up in a stupor to pull a lever with a (D) next to a name.

Actually, it's because McCain ditched the whole "straight talk express" thing, picked a lunatic idiot as his running mate, and proceeded to run the most bumbling, inept campaign in history. All of this following the worst administration in more than 100 years.

It works like this: 40% of the voters are too stupid to vote for anyone other than a Republican. Another 40% are too stupid to vote for anyone other than a Democrat. That leaves 20% of the population. Roughly half of those people are complete and utter mouthbreathers -- undecided Ohio voters, for instance. And then you have the 10% who actually pay attention to the issues and in general vote for the lesser of two evils.

Those people were scared off in 2008 by McCain's bumbling and his choice of Sarah Palin. They were scared off in 2012 by Romney's "maker vs. taker" gaff and his choice of Ayn-drone Paul Ryan. And I'd be willing to mortgage my house and bet it all that they pick another Ayn-drone in 2016. Maybe they'll go straight to the source this time and finally nominate Rand Paul. That'll be great for all the immature dipsticks who [censored] to Atlas Shrugged. But it won't win general elections.

I've been approached many times in this town, seen them all over the place. Its usually been outside in parking lots. But a couple months ago i was approached in Target. Not even the front of the store. That was a first. But yea i see them everywhere and i was a little thrown off the first time i walked down the strip and saw so many. I have a family member who came to visit once and was so traumatized by what she experienced she refuses to come back to LV. Lets just say they were overly aggressive. Its definitely a problem here.
