I enjoyed the experience, too. I even got a little misty thinking about the multiple history-making aspects of it. And I posted a few pics at the 2008 Nevada Caucus Flikr site that the SUN has a link to.
There were four precincts gathered in the gym. I have to say, the peeps in my precinct were friendly, tolerant, and decent. I asked myself, Where are these people in everyday life, and why don't they live in my cul-de-sac? Among the 108 voters from 7375, there was only one divisive, irritating, strong-arming person.
Otherwise, Obamaites were laughing it up with Clintonites and the (few) Edwardsites (no one else got votes), and everyone was respectful about each other's choices. I was shocked--shocked!--and awed. When it came time to convince the Edwardsites to go Clinton or Obama, the rude guy was shut out by the Edwards supporters, who listened instead to only the reasonable people from the other two camps.
And after Clinton won the most delegates, everybody (except rude guy) said, Hey, we're all in this together, regardless of who gets the nomination.
The older I get, the more this conciliatory, amicable approach appeals to me.

Julia, I'm confused about this...the news is reporting that Obama won more degates, while Clinton won the popular vote...can you please shed some light on this anomaly?

I just heard on the news (KVBC, as of 9:00 a.m.) that the delegate count is still being disputed. The whole thing is too complicated for me to understand, let alone explain. It's sort of akin to the Electoral College.
If the final delegate count is in Obama's favor, I'm sure the news outlets will attempt to explain how that could be so.
Sorry I can't help!

There is an arcane system for dividing the natinal delegates that could allow Obama to receive more than Hilary. It deals with Obama winning in areas which end up with one delegate while Hilary wins in areas with enough delgates to proportion.
It is likely that however it comes out it will be close to 50/50...As opposed to the voter 51/46 split. That happens when you allow geographic apportionment...see 2004 election.

thanks, olecapt. It sure would be a shame for Hillary to lose the party nomination by one delegate!

I was there. I'm in precinct 3459, I think. My original choice was Edwards (who got 4 people), but I switched to Obama along with one other person. The other two Edwards supporters went to Hillary. There weren't any other supporters for the other candidates, and only a couple undecideds. I forget who they went with, but Obama took our precinct 5 to 3. I registered as an alternate delegate for Obama.
