Nevada Real Estate Division

Use the state's lawyers. More than likely you will get what you pay, which since we don't pay state taxes... but might just be worth a phone call or complaint to them, you never know.

Will not work in these circumstances. That is if it is a legitimate action. And it may well be. IrishSpy has the right answer. Throw the board out.

Almost certain they will except medical devices and devices required by the handicapped as that will get the government into the act.

If they ban children from something they will likely have problems. But if they ban all bicycles except those required by the handicapped they can do it.

I would certainly try a petition though. Sometimes people back off in the face of real opposition.

If you bike to work, sue the HOA. You'll win.

Update today another resident stopped by urging us to go to the meeting this month and vote down the rule change banning all non motorized vehicles plus stating she is ready to get another petition to remove the board which only requires 10% of the residents to sign. Another new rule change purposed is to do away with the gate code and require everyone to purchase a clicker at the cost of $50.00 each to get in and out of the community or the entry gate key which cost $25.00. The Meeting on Tuesday May 26 should be a wing dinger.

Default sounds restrictive

That HOA sounds very restrictive.

Time for a peaceful revolution, bring in some new blood to the HOA board of directors.

People used non-motorized vehicles since the invention of the wheel. 100 years of autos and now they're ALL in violation?

That depends on how many people both care, and don't agree with the current board. Usually when these restrictions happen, it's because there's a significant cadre in the community that wants it. To overcome them, someone would have to organize a bigger block to defeat them. Often not easy.
