I receive SSI for my disability, an although my felony is from 1997, it still has been an issue when I've tried to rent in the past. The sec 8 list is closed, an public housing has a longer wait list then the longest line at Walmart on black Friday here in north Las Vegas . Is there any type of program I'm over looking, sub housing, secret voucher or privately funded orginization. I'm 39 with a herititary heart condition that wont allow me to walk up 3 flights of steps with out this damn difebulator goin off "" ZAPP "". All suggestion is great fully welcome, thank you..

This is quite possibly the worst city possible for a person with a felony record to live. You might find someone on Craigslist whi is willing to rent you a room. Other than that you are stuck with the weeklies and that's not going to leave you much SSI left over to live on.

If it's a 97 felony and you have been clean since then you might be able to get it expunged. But that takes time. Check with legal aid. Till then, stay on the waiting list and rent a room on craigslist.

I'd rent to you. But the only place I have available is a two-story with a very long flight of stairs. Probably no good for you.
