The problem with pet fee's are: You pay a pet deposit plus pet rent every month tacked onto your rent. This usually applies to dogs and cats. You really shouldn't have to do that with a bird.

I agree. Don't ask...just presume and move in with it. I suppose they would charge for a goldfish too...but not if you don't volunteer.

If they give you a hard time claim the bird is for roach control...

Well, I'd love to sneak him in, lol, but unfortunately, my bird is not the quietest little whistler of the avian species! It's more like a child screaming that it's ice cream was taken away!

Maybe I'll test out the situation at a place nearby....

I think you're headed for trouble if the bird is that annoying. Your neighbors will not be pleased.

Back from LV yesterday evening, and checked out Camden Pines, and Eagle Crest. Camden Pines is a really nice place, but seems overly priced for what they offer. After calling Eagle Crest to confirm a visit, the rep there said, "Please visit before dark for security purposes." Color me shocked but I'm pretty sure that's not the best way to sell an apartment to someone. So, I checked the apartment guide book, and visited Solevita in Henderson. I loved it! While there, the rep showed me the other properties owned by ConAm management and upon calling Allanza at the Lakes, they are currently running a special in January for $870.00/month for a 2bed/2ba, but you get $100.00/month when you sign a 7 month lease! Their 1bed/1ba is only $5.00 a month cheaper....so if anyone is looking for a 2bed/2ba immediately, CALL THEM!! The complex is beautiful, and the area is really nice. I drove from the RIO and it only took us 15 minutes to get there. The only problem is that you have to make 3X your rent to qualify.
I'm not moving until May/June out there, so I'm thinking elsewhere at this point.
I know Solevita recently did a condo conversion, and I saw the upgraded unit/condo, and it's really not worth the extra $150.00 a month. They are still renting for 12 months, 1 month free OAC. Anyone have any thoughts on Solevita? Can't seem to find any reviews online for them. Thanks

Hi Hockeygirl, are you the same hockeygirl from the RJ Forums?

The reasons why the sales reps told you to visit Eagle Crest before dark for security reasons is because the entrance gates close and you can't get in unless you have a clicker...

While I don't know anyone who lives at Solevita, I know of someone who visited there when they first did their conversions and they said it was quite nice.

I know where Allanza is in The Lakes...one of the best areas to live in Las Vegas in my opinion...I am very partial to that area, it's NOT Summerlin, close to everything and everything close by, choices for everything you could possibly want, beautiful Red Rock Station Resort close by, Boca Park nearby for even MORE shopping and dining and about 15 minutes to the Strip.

Good luck with your search!

Hi MomMom, I am the same trouble maker! Just trying to get different perspectives from different boards/people. Now that I've seen the place, and the area, I am really confident in the places there. However, they do request 3x your rent monthly in salary which I'm not sure I'll be able to tackle right away, so I think I'm going to go to Solevita.

I don't remember the gate at Eagle Crest, so that made me really leery. I did like their apartments though..very shaded!

I witnessed the "upgraded amenities" first hand at Solevita...totally not worth it! Instead of $795.00/mth you pay $925.00 to get partial laminate wood floors, and granite countertops...oh and your appliances are all the same color... What a ripoff! lol

Thank you so much everyone for your opinions, suggestions, etc...you've been really helpful to me!
Now all I need to do is buy a damn GPS to find my way around town!
