You'll be talking about Ben's Kosher Deli if I'm not mistaken....

We don't have anything on that scale here, far as I know, but I have been to Sababa, on Durango Drive, and Shalom Hunan on West Flamingo. Also, the Smith's Supermarket on Rampart/Lake Mead has a large Kosher section, in the front of the store.

That's it, MomMom!!!!!! Oh....those pickles are to die for! (surrounded by a nice corned beef on rye sandwich ) I'll give one that you mentioned a try, if I make it up there next month.

I miss a few things from LI...Beaches, Deli's, bagels and pizza.

But I think that's it.

I will definitely second Sababa. I went there on my last trip out there. They're food is great! I don't know about their corned beef sandwiches though, as I was all about the Falafel and Schwarma when I was there. As someone raised on Jewish deli foods, I will definitely say they are pretty dead on. Yum!

LOL @ "shalom hunan" - I giggle at the names of some Kosher chinese restaurants.. there used to be a place by my friend's apartment called "Mazel Wok"

Jfk, if you're looking to head over there, it's at the corner of Durango Drive and Desert Inn, in the corner of the shopping center (I think the entrance is just north of DI).

P.S. The Von's on the corner of Durango and Warm Springs has a pretty decent Kosher food section as well.

I have yet to find a decent bagel place out there (One thing I think I will miss about New York). I'll have to look again when I'm out there in March. Hey, jfk, if you happen upon one next month, let me know!

Pizza. Meh. I've had "NY style Pizza" in Vegas. Sorry, it was insulting!

When you're in Las Vegas, try the Bagel Cafe on Buffalo, just south of Summerlin Parkway on the West Side of Buffalo in the Westcliff House center....not only good bagels, but a pretty good bakery/cafe as well!

Pizza, I don't even bother with pizza too much...although I was at the Meadows Mall on Saturday and had a slice of Villa Pizza in the food court. Not bad...plenty of oil dripping down, huge slice, decent crust and sauce.

I still think that pizza place in the NYNY hotel has good pizza...can't remember the name of it, it's in the food court area. Had it about a year ago, it was pretty good...

Most of the pizza here in LV is really Cali pizza, or Chicago pizza...i.e. not truly NY style

Thanks MomMom - I will definitely check that out next time I'm out there. The NYer in me needs a Sunday morning Bagel fix from time to time.

I tried to rep you, but it said I needed to spread the love a little more.

thanks anyway Davey...I have a feeling you're gonna love Las Vegas! Believe me, after living here a long time, you'll find that you don't really miss all those "back home" things.

Newbies do, but after a while, you forget what those things taste like, become used to what is here in LV, and you adapt.

Would a color-coded map based on religion/heritage by zip code be of value to you?
