hahaha I remember the static electricity when we first moved here.

Grounding myself has become such second nature I haven't even thought about it in a while.

No one has mentioned the easiest solution, one that I used for many years when I had a business with sensitive electronic equipment in a carpeted space I was leasing. Go to a local janitorial supply or catalog place like Uline. They sell a liquid anti-static spray. As I recall I paid about $18-20/gallon and it lasted all summer. There are also aerosol versions but they cost more for the amount in them. Simply spray with a pump sprayer or squeeze spray bottle on the carpet and it lasts 3-4 days, not a bit of static. I'd spray last thing before going home, though you don't use a lot so you can walk on it right away.

Odd timing for this thread considering humidity is way up and static hasn't even crossed my mind.

That's how electrifying I am, I get shocked even in the times I shouldn't.

I'll definitely try that, thanks. But what about being out and about, the grocery store is hell.
Wish I can bathe in the spray lol.

Ugh. Every time we get out of the car we get shocked through the static electricity by either our car or the carport. My husband hates it and I don't like it either.

I worry about it at gas stations here because I've seen videos where the static electricity of messing around in your car while pumping gas or answering your cell phone while pumping gas has cause people to be engulfed in an inferno at the pumping station.

I found hand cream helpful, especially when out and about. Also "grounding" myself on a wall before touching the store's doors.

At home, humidifying seemed to take care of the issue entirely. But it has to be done fairly frequently.

Just ground yourself before pumping if you're worried.

Try spraying your shoes including the bottom before going to the store. I have never experienced static at any grocery stores, as they don't have carpet.
