The Saga continues I was informed that any changes we make to the original pool operating system such as replacing the present single phase pump and motor systems with variable speed pumps would require a special permit for the Nevada board of health ???? We are a HOA run community with 3 pools on our property with Spa's. Does anyone have any information about this or direction to go to search out the correct information??? And yes!!! our entry gate system is still a mess because our gate code was removed by the HOA board and the issue about banning all non motorized vehicles (bikes) and etc has not been resolved. but the pool thing is a new one.

You got me curious. I have to go back and look at all your tales. Hate when an HOA goes bad...or worse, goes stupid.

Las Vegas is in the Southern Health District. Go here (about the pool regs) and have at it. I greatly enjoy research and have family near Las Vegas but....other things call at the moment. Let us know what you find out.

Flow rates and turnover times. Probably need a full calculation for each pool.

Sounds like a lot of red tape for no good reason.

Well the Southern Health District invented Red Tape. Most annoying paper work mill in the City. But it is for a good reason.

SNHD wants to confirm that the maintenance of the pool allows for sufficient turnover (all the water gets filtered a certain number of times per day). Change the pool pump motor and run times, and all that changes, so it would need to be recertified.

Correct, each pump needs to be calibrated to optimal flow rate and filtration needs for a commercial pool according the the Health Dept standards.
