Not big, but I put $100 in a $2 max bet $1 machine and hit for $900 on my second and last spin. I don't like slots but I was killing time while my wife was still playing. This was at a local Indian casino here in Oregon.

Well in the last year I think I have played twice and am down about $5...less two free waters. Over the years I think I have three royal flushes. Two in ten days on one stretch. $1000 each.

The most I ever got was $1,000. But did not bet anything. It was a free slot tourney. I won it again at the same place 2 weeks later, but was second place at $500.

I stopped in Biloxi on my way to work on my rental property on the East Coast. Within 2 hours, I won a $25k and a $36k in the Beau Rivage high limit slot room. A nice older lady was also playing and in between my two lucky hits, she hit a machine for $40k.

I just returned from Las Vegas yesterday. I won $20k at the resort where I stay--high limit slots.

I took cashier checks on all three wins. The money was quickly deposited into our investments, with a healthy escrow to cover taxes. I will have losses to offset some of my wins, but not nearly enough to write-off completely.

I play cards, but reserve $500 for high limit machines--and when that is gone, I am done with slots. Sometimes the play pays, most of the time, it is a loss. This is, by far, the best and only time I have ever had such a run of luck on slots. The truth is that it doesn't happen enough to make me give up cards. My last big hit on slots was more than 10 years ago ($22.5k).

My daughter gets a brand new washer and dryer and my son gets a trip to Universal Orlando with his family. It is good when dad wins.

Won a poker tournament many years ago, buy in was $500 and payoff was $36k. My taxes the next year sucked.
