In what way? You've got to narrow that down a bit.

Similar communities. Summerlin is just over 100,000. Scottsdale is 2.5 times bigger. Summerlin will eventually catch up mostly. Similar homes. Scottsdale is older. Schools are similar.

Summerlin is cooler and drier. That is an advantage in the summer a disadvantage in the winter.

Scottsdale is in Phoenix metro. Summerlin is 15 miles from the strip. Vegas traffic is greatly superior. (Simply a smaller town with reasonable freeways)

scottsdale just has that country club feel, its such a clean town, nice shopping, nice resturants, so much night life. I am still going back and forth between the two of them. I heard somewhere Nevada had the highest foreclosures of any state last year, does anyone know how come so many?

WOHR will become famous soon enoughWOHR will become famous soon enough
Not all of Scottsdale is nice. We were there the other weekend and the older business district leaves something to be desired. But there are and always will be the beautiful side of Scottsdale. And I think both Scottsdale and Summerlin are pretty comparable. We just don't have the nice mall and Old Scottsdale shopping and dining district they have. But I'm sure all of that will come.
Another difference is, in Summerlin the houses really only date back 15 some years, Scottsdale has the older ranch homes from the 50's in a lot of areas. Friends of ours had to do a major overhaul of their home because it was so outdated (plumbing, electricity, etc). I think they dropped over $100,000 to redo the inside of a 1600 sq. ft. home. Also, may of the older homes down there do not even have garages or carports. The baking factor on the cars is crazy!!!
