So while I'm NOT in love with Uber as they don't seem to be a great company, the drivers are another story. They don't work for Uber, so no one can judge all of their drivers.

I've been waiting for Uber to get here since I got here in Jan. 2014, but OF COURSE, the Mafia known as the taxi companies have prevented them from coming here.

Finally a petition went around & got enough signatures that they were allowed in & NOW THIS...

http://www.buzzfeed.com/johanabhuiya...igg#.hm8ox3KV2

In the last 2 months I've TRIED to get a taxi & it was the WORST experience I've ever encountered in the very infrequent times I've ordered a taxi in 2 different cities.

Not only did one NOT show up at all, he finally did, called me, said he was around the corner & then AGAIN never showed up. I had to walk home exhausted & beaten as I can't walk long distances.

The first time I ordered a taxi, I waited over 1 1/2 hours & when the guy FINALLY showed up, he was RUDE. I thought he was going to start yelling at me or strike me, that's how much anger was inside him.

I've even had tourists tell me they were ripped off by taxi drivers taking LV when they know damm will it will take 1-2 hours to go up the strip. They even told the driver to take this & that street (a friend told them how to get around the strip) & he refused.

Can't STAND the greed in Vegas & yes I'm FINALLY leaving. YIPPPEEEE

I have a thing for the Mob. This thread has nothing to do with it.

I think you'll find greed just about anywhere. We're just a little more open about our avarice and corruption since it was part of our no so distant, mob past.

You want to get things done here? At least you know what it's going to take. In Ubers case? It was the same as in every other case. Money. Now we shall see if it went to the right players.

From the information in the article, it does seem that Robertson did sell out to the highest bidder. While I am pro Uber, if that is what Robertson did, it was pretty crappy.
