Was this a test to see if anyone was paying attention? Circus Circus is a dump. Maybe not as much of a dump as the Las Vegas Circus Circus, but still a dump.

Here are five Reno hotels, all of which are far nicer than Circus Circus:

Silver Legacy
El Dorado
Grand Sierra
Peppermill
Atlantis

Now I'm waiting for you to post that the Circus Circus buffet is the best place to eat in Reno.

Okay maybe Circus Circus has gone to crap in Reno as it has been many years since I stayed but when i did the room was fabulous very clean and nice. We were in one of the towers.

Atlantis is nice too I stayed there before. They had a really good restaurant but I can't recall the name.

Cant hit Lee Vining/Tioga Pass road until June. Usually open until Septemberish. Damn sure wouldnt take that road if Im trying to go to Reno. Its pretty, but its legit 2-2.5 hours because youre 10k feet up and driving 30mph

Coming in from the west, Hwy 140 was called the 'all weather road' when it opened. You can almost always get through but you are still required to carry chains.

Just FYI, it snowed in Reno this week, and much of the snow has not yet melted. The temperature is in the 20's right now (though it's the middle of the night).

I didn't get where you're starting from, but if it's Las Vegas, it's a seven-hour drive in dry conditions. If you decide to drive, bring cash, credit cards (for gas, if you can't find an open "manned" gas station on the way), tire changes, blankets, water, food, etc.

> Thinking may be best to wait for spring/early summer...

That may be the best plan. Though the mountain areas are getting a lot of snow, and are no doubt beautiful.

(Apologies if I missed part of the information in this thread.)
