I need to find a 2-bedroom apt for no more than $800/month in a fairly safe area. I haven't found a job yet, but I have about 3 months of savings to live on (cheaply) before I feel the pinch. Looking at more southwest/Summerlin/Lakes. My main concerns are:

-safety
-preferably something quiet without lots of crazies

Am I dreaming?

You need to have at least 6 months of living expenses before you even think of doing this. Either rent a cheap room with what you have or save up more money.

Yes! Add 400 to the rent budget

If you're by yourself, why do you need 2 bedrooms? You may want 2 bedrooms, but why do you need it. $800 sounds like 1 BR money, and in an okay but not tippy top area.

And, yeah, you need more than three months if you don't have a job lined up.

Summerlin/Lakes area - may not be the area you are looking, especially if you are on a limited budget. I would suggest renting a room with roommate to begin with, and then slowly work your way to where you want to be.

I understand you want a 2 BR .. but honestly, do YOU really need a 2 BR? a Studio would suffice and will help with rent money ...

I would rather repeatedly whack my genitals with a ball peen hammer than be in a roommate situation in Las Vegas. I would rather shave with a weed whacker. I would rather let Katherine Hepburn shave me with a weed whacker after she smoked a rock of crack and stuck herself with an epipen.

I would rather watch scoop do that, then watch the debate.

Isn't that basically the premise of the new show at Flamingo?

Might have to look into tickets ...
