Could you put the location of a good outlet stores in Las Vegas. I will be staying in a hotel on a strip (Stratosphere), and my brother would like to do some shopping in the morning. Do you know what is the sales tax in Las Vegas, and can he avoid it by showing his return ticket to Poland.

We moved here about 5 years ago and cant wait to move out in about three months
Our cons:
Lot of crime
Gangs
Dirty--unless its the strip its poorly maintained
Graffiti-everywhere
Illegal Immigrants that cant speak english
Weather-only fall and spring are decent--110 degrees with 40 mph winds=living in a big hair dryer
Schools-terrible
Air Quality
Not good enviroment to raise children
Pros:
No state income tax
Good place to start business

So then why did you move here? Oh wait! The MONEY! The MONEY! I started a business, THAT'S why we HAD to move here !
Obviously you're not doing well. Lost the house? Lost all your money? Can't afford anything? At least you gave it your best shot and stayed 5 years, that's about the typical time (3-5 years) newbies realize they made their mistakes all over again.
I guess wherever you came from was just as bad... And wherever you go to after Las Vegas will become even worse?
Nevertheless, much good luck and peace to you

So that my wife and I could take care of my mother while she was in ill health
Why is it so hard for you to believe that some people just dont like Las Vegas outside of losing their house/money? If it wasnt for the 115 degree summers and wanting a better enviroment to raise our 5 year old we would stay.

Economically yes it was far worse. As to where we are moving to, much better(last least in our opinion)-very little violent crime, excellent house market (the house we have an offer on is over 2000sft with an acre of land w/small stream for under 325k), and as far as economics I will be under 2 hrs drive time within 3 major cities

Why is it so hard for people to believe that MOST [if not all ] of the regular posters aren't bothered by people that don't like Las Vegas....what we ARE bothered by is the people that don't like it, then HARP on that fact and tell us [or implying] we're stupid for living here.......

Good post dyni, I tried to rep ya, but I have to "spread the love"....
Your feelings are the same as mine. Las Vegas is not Utopia by any means, and I don't think anyone said it is, but it's certainly better than a lot of other places...considering how much the Valley has grown, I'd say there's more folks who agree with our feelings than those who don't.
The ones I really enjoy are the ones who actually LEAVE...and then continually have to come back and post to "warn others" about the the "horrors" of living in Las Vegas...they just can't get Las Vegas out of their mind and seem to want to validate their exodus from here.
Guess if I took psychology in college I would understand their rationale...
But again, everyone's opinion counts. Not everyone has the same feelings as we do, and the exiting folks DO provide the opposite side of the coin.
And nobody really listens to the negative Nellies anyway
So, my sentiments to them are... be well, good luck, find peace...hope you find what you're looking for!
