yeh, lately they haven't done much on the Strip, even when i was alone with friends, but there still is rarely anything for us to do there anyway besides goin to some restaurants and the malls, but the places my friends get harassed at (not me since i'm 18) are some of the local casinos with the movies and bowling which have stupid 6 PM curfews...

Well, getting back to the original topic of this thread, is Las Vegas overrated?

It must be, because we certainly haven't slacked off on the amount of folks coming on this forum and saying their moving to Las Vegas!

For many, times are becoming tough. I imagine that the recent increase of "Moving to Las Vegas" threads is their last chance. Las Vegas was built on these type of hopes and dreams.

Or some of us happened to find a job out here and moved out as a result.

Without the job, I wouldn't have moved here. I have been pleasantly surprised at how much Vegas has that I enjoy - the St. Pat's parade this weekend, the Scottish Games in April... we love that stuff!

I have an Aunt who lives in Vegas so I have a long history of coming here. We usually came for Thanksgiving to visit. Every now and then we came in the summer and I remember thinking I would never want to live in Vegas.

So, when my husband received a job offer to come here we were skeptical. It was good that we moved here in the winter so we had a chance to adjust before the heat hit. Over time I really have grown to love it here.

So, Las Vegas is not overrated.

Oh, and one more thing - on average, I defy you to find overall better service EVERYWHERE in Las Vegas than most other cities. I think I've had "bad" service... once?

Rockstar, jobs are hard to come by everywhere. You can't single out Las Vegas for that and that alone.

Vegas is totally dependant on the world coming here to spend their money. Without people coming to Vegas, our city will implode as it is doing now. Vegas was the first to be hit by the recession and will be the last to recover. From the financial advisors I deal with, they expect a recovery in late 2012.

I am not trying to blast Vegas. I want millions of people to come here every day so the locals can have a great life. I love Vegas but it is time for me to relocate before I lose everything.
