They're hooking up on Tinder, Grinder and Blender. I'd heard about the Tinder dating app before but not the other two.

I liked the Buzzed Las Vegas article's full title but I couldn't justify putting it on here. Still a 6000% increase in cases in Clark County in 15 years! That's a bit much and my husband just did a public health rotation. Though he sounded like he was mostly touring restaurants and learning about inspecting their health conditions, besides the various clinical rotations around the city.

If it weren't so appalling, all these years later, I could crack a joke comparing Las Vegas to Tuskegee.

If Syf is coming back, that means that unplanned pregnancies, herpes, HIV and similar are also on the rise. Probably the same 600% increase. You generally only see those kind of numbers at high schools which teach abstinence-only sex-ed.

Oh no, you heard that right. It's a 6000% increase here in 15 years! According to KSNV Syphilis was nearly wiped out across the country and was so low in 2000 that there were only 4 cases in Clark County. I think it probably could have something to do with hookers, but the doctors are attributing it mostly due to the use of social media "dating apps" aka hook up apps like Tinder, Ginder and whatever the other one was. I think it was Blender. The doctors are trying to track down the people they came in contact with through these apps and their screen names so they can be treated for it.

The other thing they mentioned at the end of the news piece was that the syphilis rash can be on the hands or other parts of the body that come in contact with other people and it can be spread that way.

Yes because not teaching people about what happens when having sex is a brilliant idea....

There's no proper way to teach "abstinence only" sex-ed for the same reason there's no intelligent way to teach "intelligent design."

Garbage in, garbage out.

At least syf is treatable. No more catheters and brain damage.
