I was wondering if Las Vegas Academy is a good high school? Is it in a dangerous area (7th and Bridger)??? How is the Visual Arts program?

An excellent magnet school with an exceptional program for the arts.

Web site is...

Home (http://ccsd.net/schools/LVAISPVA/Home.html - broken link)

Rates very highly academically as well.

Actually the area is gentrifying houses and the legal community. Some nearby areas are rough but the school itself is probably one of the safest in the valley.

olecapt,

I tried to give you a rep, but agian I got a message saying that I have to spread them around a bit.

Can I help it that you always have great insight and (in my opinion) deserve reps for almost all of your posts?

Their site claims 70% of their graduates continue on to higher education-- sounds impressive, unless of course, their graduation rate is 50%. What is the graduation rate at LVA?

Page 65 shows this as the case. Thank you. So, in reality less than 2 of every 3 students at LVA will seek further education.

I currently go to Las Vegas Academy. No violence as happened. As for the drugs, this year, there was a student who smoked weed in the bathroom and immediately expelled, since then theres been no drug use. The outer environment does not communicate with the students, eventually an elderly man would hold out a sign that reads "Stop sending troops in Iraq. But thats it. Visual arts program is wealthy, and very talented. You cannot perfect the program because its already perfect.
