I have been on this site for 3 years researching a move to las vegas. I want to thank everyone for there post. It really helped me decide. I am retiring from my job on June 17. I have been a police officer for 27 years in Pennsylvania. I am only 47 years old. I started when i was 20. My girlfriend and I have decided on Henderson or Sumerlin to live. We will be in last vegas in May to look at places to live. We want to rent for a year before we buy. My daughter is going to UNLV in August. I do run a Public Speaking business in Pa and hope to continue this in NV. I am also thinking of getting my Private Investigator License also. If you see any mistakes I am making please me know? Hope to be a Neveda Resident by August.

Default Welcome!

Just wishing you the best of luck in your move and welcome you. Your idea of renting for a year is a smart idea as you'll have a better idea of where you want to move. Your employment background and determination in finding a new career will serve you well. I like the website indeed.com for jobs but don't try to find a job until you move here - that's next to impossible to do except for few positions. Also hope you have set aside enough money that you could live on 3-6 month.

Best of luck! There are always opportunities for people with law enforcement experience. Lots of Marshalls here too because of all the courts. That's not a bad job. I was on jury duty for 6 months and got to know several. And they said they were paid well too.
