Considering moving to Las Vegas...
Okay, my stereotype of a guy out there is a lounge lizard, which I do not want.
Are there men who don't live in bars?
I don't gamble, don't drink much, would I be happy there?
I am from the midwest, and like geology, astronomy, art, music, and cooking.

Not too many lounge lizards. Where I live I always see plenty of good looking men jogging.
Would you be happy here? Only you will know for sure. A place can't make you happy. It comes from within.

Try meetup.com to meet all sorts of guys with your interests. There are many different types of men out here just waiting to meet you.

I don't live in Vegas but, from the feedback I've gotten, there is a high percentage of 'normal' people who live in the greater LV metro area. Plenty of people live there who have no interest in gambling or drinking. There are numerous other ways to enjoy one's free time in the Valley.

There's plenty of recreation out here: biking and jogging paths, golf courses, tennis clubs, hiking and skiing at Mount Charleston, hiking at Red Rock Canyon, boat rentals at Lake Mead, etc.

Plenty of concert venues that host big names, as well as lawn concerts in the park that show local groups.

Ethnic food festivals in the summer.

Curious but where do you live? How do you know so much about the city??

I wondered the same thing.
I want the low down from the locals, or people who have lived there.

I've lived out here for around 15 years, and I've only known 2 or 3 people that would fit the mold that many people think of when they think of Vegas. I'm sure they are around, but Vegas is very similar to most American cities. I've lived in Seattle, and I'm originally from San Diego as well, and some of the most honest, stand-up people I have ever met in my life I've met here. Most of my friends and colleagues work, go home and take care of their families, wash their cars and mow their lawns on weekends, pretty standard stuff.
