Las Vegas has some of the best radio stations (97.1 The Point) around, but are there any non-facist talk radio stations? I listen to Coast to Coast AM on one of the facist stations, but it'd be nice to listen to some normal talk radio. So, are all the stations in this town dedicated to the Reich Wing?

Tune in to NPR (National Public Radio) on the lower end of the FM dial (87 to 89).

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I miss KGO 810 AM, out of San Francisco. That was a good station! I'd rather not listen a bunch of brown shirted goose steppers, thanks.

It all makes sense now, "San Francisco." Good attempt at shock value. I was "outraged" at your "brown shirted goose steppers" comment. You could do what most of us do, not listen. Kool-Aid drinkers calling out other Kool-Aid drinkers. Very clever.

I still get Bay Area news from KCBS 740 and KGO 810 with a good antenna or at night it comes in extra clear. I listen to KDWN 920, there are some good talk radio shows on there. KNX in LA comes in pretty good too. i think its 970 or 1040 .. cant remember for sure.

Try listening to the morning program on 94.1 FM. It's light and fun, offering balanced, moderate commentary (some silly topics, sure, but plenty of serious topics too).

It may be too casual for your tastes, but it is fun. You might like it.

I'm a moderate Democrat (Go Obama!), but it's rare to find non Reich talk radio these days. I've been here in Vegas for three years at the end of May, otherwise I've lived in the North Bay (Santa Rosa & Napa) all of my life.

You can get Big Ed Schultz online via several stations that stream it. I sometimes catch him at the Madison, WI station (9:00 a.m. to noon Nevada time) Madison's Progressive Talk - The Mic 92.1 -

Charles Goyette, out of Phoenix, is more of a libertarian bent but often pretty good and he gets good guests. His show streams from 6:00 a.m. to 9. KFNX News-Talk Radio 1100 Arizona time, so this time of year I guess you'd have to tune in at 5 a.m. Nevada time? (Arizona's time deal always confuses me, because they don't do the Daylight Savings thing)

And if you're up early and into some punishment interspersed with good guests (like Chris Dodd yesterday), there's always Don Imus (who is not as 'edgy' as he used to be) at 3:00 a.m. to 6 Nevada time News Talk Radio 77 WABC-AM

Of course none of this does you any good if you aren't within earshot of your computer.
