I was at Westgate a few months ago. Im picky. The Casino is not even close to being up to par with even a place like The Mirage. I consider Mirage really nice but a step below the Bellagio, Wynn or Encore.. The people at the Westgate are of lower class in general for sure!! Its true in my opinion. Look where it is located If your at the Mirage.. your within walking distance of the Wynn or Encore or Bellagio or Venetian. ( Here come all the posts now of how I must be some rich jerk lol ) Nope! I just love clean and extra nice. Everyone has there opinion and thats mine deal with it! lol

Default IN and OUT

Wow! going to IN & OUT with all the fantastic restaurants and buffets in town? One person posted how the Red Rock Casino buffet is good. I agree. For the price its really good. Is it as good as Caesars or Bellagio buffet? No way but for the price its very good. I have had breakfast and lunch there. I can not comment on the dinner at Red Rock as we haven't had it. You need a car to get to Red Rock Casino.

so here we are; back home and not totally broke!!!! Yay!!!! We had a great time, did far less gambling than usual but made up for it drinking I hate to say.

Here is a quick breakdown of our activities: Friday ended up being pretty much a lost day unfortunately. I won't go into details, but in brief, our daughter and hubby, coming from Florida ended up renting a car at LAX and driving to Vegas overnight. She and I spent a good part of the day shopping at Trader Joes and trying to locate luggage at LAS. Guys spent a lot of time at the sports book. They ended up using the Flamingo one even though the would have chosen a different one if things had gone smoother. it really was ok, good service and good comfortable seating.
Late Friday afternoon our son and girlfriend arrived. I fixed everyone spaghetti and a big green salad for dinner. that is when I decided I needed to drink as much wine as I could and I did. We all headed for bed early. They were going to walk over to the Flamingo but all were too tired.

Saturday: breakfast at the Flamingo food court: I hate food courts but it wasn't bad I guess. All the guy hit the race book. We played slots for awhile and then joined them at the race book. I left early to take a nap. Hubby and son did very well I will say. Son in law, not so well. I did ok, but not a heavy better so didn't win that much on the derby. Later we had snacks and a little left over dinner. the youngsters went to C.Palace to gamble and ate at the Irish Pub; their opinion: not too positive. Food was OK at best, prices were over the top.

Sunday: back to Flamingo to collect our winnings and play some slots. Back to condo. Finally weather is warming up: sun time. That evening we had reservations at Mon Ami Gabi. Thanks to some of you for suggesting it and we had eaten there one other time: OMG, it is worth every penny. Not only is the food great, the service is outstanding. We all agreed and we have eaten at some darn upscale places in the past.

The rest of the family, again, did some gambling, we headed for our condo and a good nights sleep.

Monday, daughter, son in law and hubby decided to do the helicopter ride through the Grand Canyon. This is an experience they will remember for a long time. I laid out by the pool, just visiting with people and did some reading. When the returned they joined me for pool time. Later that afternoon we headed to the casino. We gambled awhile. I cleaned the fridge, we had some snacks and headed for "Love" Our son and his girlfriend were on their way back to Florida by then. What a nice end to a way to short of a trip. I never did get my brunch buffet, but that is ok, I don't need all that food.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Your daughter and her hubby driving from LAX reminds me of the couple I met that accidentally booked a flight to LAX instead of LAS in sheer excitement and it was too costly to cancel/rebook so they just rented a car and drove.

Sounds like a great time. Glad you got to try Mon Ami Gabi and actually had a positive experience

You have to understand when it comes to In&Out; when one is raised in So. Ca, remembers the first one opened and suddenly moves so far away they have non, it is a must to have a double double once at least. the same as it is a must to shop at Trader Joe's when there are none within 2 hours of where yo live. We had to bring home some sour dough bread if nothing else. We did get our burgers and we did bring home the bread.

I am guessing from your comment, not all experiences at Mon Ami Gabi are positive. I will say I ordered the wrong entrée; daughter and I split the cold seafood platter. It was more an appetizer and not what we expected, but the rest of our meal was delightful.

Glad to hear you had a good time! Nothing wrong with liking in-n-out. It has a distinctive flavor that no one else seems to be able (wants?) to duplicate! Did you enjoy the love show?

No, more like relieved that I didn't recommend a bad place
Cause I really hate when I suggest a place and they don't deliver

Oh yes, we enjoyed the show and I forgot to mention the guys did go golfing. I do remember what course but said it was unbelievably beautiful.

ok, well you certainly made a great recommendation. I will add, it was really busy, but we had reservations at 6pm and were taken the minute we arrived.
