What do you mean when you say "a city like Las Vegas"?

Chris Guinchigliani? IMO, she's the sanest Clark County Commissioner we have! Forever opposed to More Cop's taxation, for one!

Over the years, anytime I've emailed her with an issue, she, or her assistant, gets back to me soon after!

A city that has legal sports gambling and over 3 million visitors a month.

Once again, not accurate. Steve Wynn, Jan Jones and Jim Murran had the floor for an entire afternoon. Steve Hill had two days of testimony. Sands lobbyists also had far more than three minutes.

Let's enjoy the campaign contribution disclosures that are coming out overnight. I suspect we will find some fun bombshells in there. I wonder if any of those anti-taxers that unexpectedly voted yes took a last-minute truckload of cash from any companies related to stadium lobbyists and proponents. Of course they did. The only question is how many and how much.

Victoria Seaman took the max from Venetian, Sands Corp and Sands Expo on 8/25 ($15k) and 9/29 ($15k). Jill Dickman took the max from Venetian and Sands on 8/25 ($10k).

Seaman has contributions from PACs with ties to Adelson/Sands in the past two months. One is administered by Roberson, whom Adelson/Sands massively bankrolled to try and defeat Tarkanian in the US House Republican primary. Roberson is the Senate Majority Leader and was the mouthpiece for Sands in the NV Legislature for the stadium. He's accepted more money from Sands than any other Nevada state lawmaker.

Both Seaman and Dickman voted against the education tax on their anti-tax promise, yet after receiving large contributions from Sands, suddenly didn't mind a tax that favored Sands for the stadium. That attack ad writes itself. "Billionaire donor's special interests more important than increasing education funding."

I'm sure I will dig out more. Those were easy to find.

I'm one that doesn't count eggs until they're hatched, unlike so many of our overly-optimistic, gullible, overly-desperate politicians in this state.

From the paper this morning, NFL commissioner Goodell is still in talks with Oakland about keeping them there. And Mr. Davis claims he's not doing this for leverage. And there's other issues to overcome before this becomes a done deal!

Love that saying: The basis of optimism is sheer terror!

I just read up on him on Wikipedia. Interesting!

Is there an intelligent answer to this? Will locals be able to afford tickets? 50 yard line, or in the parking lot?
