They won't be good, but they probably won't be the worst team. Free agency starts Saturday, so we should see some signings and an uptick in trades as well.

Wishful thinking. Unless the Avs do indeed sell off every valuable piece they got they still have a better team with a lot of players better than the VGK. Any trades are going to bring less valuable players today than sending out. Free agency seems likely to see only very cheap signings to make sure they have a flexible roster so they don't have to rush any young players up to NHL level.

It's ok in the long run, the team needs to get the fans to embrace the suck. The future is very bright but will be a rough two years to get there.
