Well my criteria for finding apartments is to be able to afford it I've looked through the apartments in Summerlin and Henderson and those are very nice places there. Most one bedrooms are around 700-900$ plus utilities. I guess I rather get a second part-time job to get an extra 300$ for a better place. So I would appreciate any recommendations for apartments in Henderson, Summerlin areas.
I did look through the Craigslist and found some crazy nice houses for only 400-600$, but that means living with 3-5 people and I'd rather not. Thats just me
Also my credit doesn't have much history and all the apartments require a credit check. So I wonder if I don't get qualified could I be able to pay up front for like 3-12 months? I'm sure no one would refuse 12 months up front pay for a place
Thanks for all the help again guys, really appreciate it.

I suggested earlier for someone looking for cheaper apartments close to central Las Vegas. Try looking around the SE corner of Tropicana and Maryland as well as the SE corner of Flamingo and Maryland. Also the neighborhood on the NW corner of Sahara and Decatur has some reasonable places convenient to everything.
You really have to come see for yourself what is acceptable, since scary, ghetto, dangerous, etc. are relative terms. Having a budget and sticking to it is honorable, since a lot of people ignore their budget and end up moving back home in 6 months because they couldn't make ends meet.
I had a friend who was living at Americana, and it's pretty meager living. Also, the units all share walkways that run along everyone's front entrance, so you'll get people walking by right next to your bed all night talking. There are probably better places than this even at such a low price. If the areas I suggested are too expensive, try looking at the places around Maryland Pkwy. north of Charleston. Here you may be able to find the elusive $500 decent apartment.

The way I define a decent place to live is if I go to work all day and come home at night and my stuff is still there, that's a good enough place.
Of course my other criteria are:
The area should be safe to walk at night if i have to alone.
No screaming monster kids outside my window all day and into the night.
No scary looking thugs hanging out in the parking lot, by the mailboxes, or by my place.
No screaming loud stereos or tv's coming from another unit constantly.
No furnished pets: cockroaches.
I just hate apt living. Townhome/condo living is a step up, but it still has it's problems too.

For me keeping within the budget is the #1 priority. Although I do have a good enough amount of money saved up, they can go pretty quick. Once I get a job, then I expect to not even touch the savings. And in order to do that I have to get an apartment at around 500-600 price range. Other people might have somewhere to come back if they don't do well, but I have nowhere to go back to. I also just came upon a website which has like 10 apartment complexes with around 400-600 price range. One of them is even brand new, opening April, 2008.

Don't feel like you have to rent a place sight unseen via the internet. Stay at a motel for a week and scout out all the potential places during the day and then swing by them at night as well. A lot of places look okay during the day, but once the sun goes down, it's a whole different story.

I know a real estate agent and she will be willing to help me out to find the best apartment in my price range. She's been in Vegas forever so I would trust her to find me a good place. So I won't rent out blindly Anyone can make beautiful pictures these days, but the actual thing is
