Ok seriously... what is the big deal?

Hey guess what? I recycle everything that I can. I drive a fuel efficient 4cly engine car. I have a compost bin in my backyard....

And yes, guess what? I happen to be a smoker.

Seriously, are people who smoke not allowed to be enviromentally conscious?

On the same note, I happen to find it astounding that there is no recycling program (that I know of) in place in clark county.

Again, just my .02

Question for the smokers...If you could go back and do it all again....would you choose to smoke cigarettes?

Honestly. No. I'm currently on attempt #5 or 6 to stop. I realize now what my father told me about how difficult it was to stop. I thought I was a big shot, thinking I could stop whenever I wanted to. Guess I was wrong.

Republic Services comes by once every two weeks to pick up recyclables. If you call them, they'll give you the colored plastic recycle bins and let you know what your scheduled pick-up dates are.

I guess it was just I who saw it as funny

I only meant the connection to pollution - You'll "pollute" your body and the air around you, but not the landfill.

Please know that I am not militant about this smoking issue. I know there are places where one just has to expect to be around it - Bars, casinos... so if one makes the choice to go there, that's just part of it. And I was thinking more about the comments about smoking in front of public doorways - Using the odds, there are MANY smokers, and maybe only a few that we ever see smoking in the entrances - So that means there are MANY considerate smokers like you So thank you for being that way. It is appreciated by non-smokers. But we non-smokers do not even think about smoking until we see or smell someone doing it.

The landfill question struck me as funny, I don't see healthful living as including smoking.

Also, I remember someone noted that it is illegal to smoke at some beaches and how crazy that sounds. I think it is because of the fact that most smokers, just toss their butts wherever they want to and that is littering the beaches and ocean.
