The best part of the Atomic museum was the little theater where it felt like you were a part of the bombs going off. It's a little motion theater. Oh, and those testers where you can find radiation on your body. I tested people walking by, half came back as testing positive for radiation.

everything in the west has a bit of rad....lotsa volcanic activity in the past, lotsa isotope rich soils and rocks, etc.
the body is a sink for certain isotopes (i.e. potassium-40, others) and we therefore we are all a bit rad. most ppl don't realize the background levels we live w/ all our lives

I don't think they have discovered internet yet in Gabbs.....not even sure they have electricity [just kidding] but the fuzzie buggs migrate twice a year.....spring and late fall....in the spring they move from the valley floor to the high country [to their summer cabin] and in the fall the go back to the valley floor [they dont ski so theres no reason to stay up high]

You wouldn't happen to know dates for the best time to see the migration? I live on the east coast, but have family out in Vegas and would like to plan a trip around this.
Thanks

Thats a HARD question....it varies from year to year.....they seem to walk when they want to walk...I have only seen it once [just the tail end] and I don't remember when it was......[longggg time ago] it was interesting....but un-exciting lol.....the thought of driving thru it on the road and breaking down in the middle [after just having squished a few "cousins"] was pretty scary.
