I personally never throw my butt out the window. My ashtray is full and I cant figure out how to take it out to dump it so I currently have a Dr. Pepper can serving as an ashtray.

People who smoke should be castrated, hung by their toes and disemboweled, have their eyes slowly pried from their sockets, have white-hot pokers stuck up their........

Oh wait, I smoke.

Never mind!

I'm an occasional pipe and cigar smoker. If I'm in a general public place (not a tobacconist's shop) I ask the people around me if I can light up. If anyone says no, I don't.

As this thread is a blast from the past, and I reread many posts, I'm wondering if Daddys was able to quit smoking, based on his son's pleas. If so, Daddys, congrats.

I haven't seen him on CD for quite a long time. I'll have to give him a call.

Yeah, that drives me nuts too.... but I also end up with so much trash in my yard.... like a whole bag of Carl's Jr wrappers and ketchup packs? like WTF? was someone just eating and driving/walking and just tossed it in my yard? really?

generally, littering really bothers me. people throwing still-lit cig's out the window really freaks me out a lot. I'm always afraid they're going to fly into my car.

littering absolutely bothers me....and the primary thing i actively see being "littered" is cigarette butts (see plenty of other litter also, but this act tends to be done on the 'sly'). the thing that really pisses me off is that i am pretty certain most people who throw butts out the window don't do it w/ other things (gum wrappers, etc.). so, IMO, they know better but because the butt would smell up the car, it get's tossed.

it's kinda f'd up....people will do a courteous thing like go outside to smoke away from people who might not be ok with it...and then throw the dead butt on the ground. and i know...the ground isn't likely to catch fire (where a garbage can might) but that still doesn't make it right.

*and my disclaimer...i know many responsible smokers who mind their trash, even when we are out in the field or just having fun in the wilderness...so i know it is possible to smoke and not litter up the place

Out our way we don't sweat the small things. I generally police up a few beer cans and the occassional brassiere(We are a nice dark place to park out of sight and...well you know...We ignore poop from any animal...sun and mother nature take care of that.

But periodically....last week an eight foot satellitie dish and its mountings. Just before the flip of the year a couple of sofas and a love seat. And in late January half a ton of tree trimmings.

One of these days we are going catch somebody. We have already decided to just shoot him. No local jury will convict.
