Hello, Im new to this site, but I currently live in Galveston,TX but attempting to get jobs in Houston. No luck, I have a Masters degree in Project Management. I was hoping that my education would land me a better position in Las Vegas. Of course there are always factors to consider, my lack of experience and that I still have my number from when I lived in Seattle, but my resume clearly says I live in Galveston,Tx. Does Las Vegas value education; and are they friendly to veterans in the job market?

Sorry about the grammar.

Honestly no hiring manager would care what area code your cell number is in, as long as the address is local. Using a TX address will cause probably 90% of hiring people to toss your resume. Get a local address, even if it's temporary before sending a resume.

most shipping stores offer PO Boxes, even those are better than an out of state address.

My nephew has a degree in Project Mgmt and was recruited by a large firm in El Paso where there is tremendous growth going on. Just a thought for you.

Hope,

I don't know how the oil bust is effecting this, but I would think the chances of high level professional employment in Houston would be head and shoulders above Vegas. If you're having a problem there, I don't think Vegas would be better for the same type of position.

Thank you I used to be stationed at Ft.Bliss in El Paso, back in the early 2000's. I had fun in that place.

Lots more GOOD jobs in Houston than what's here even on our best day! Vegas is a great place to live but a terrible place to make a living!

Sorry about the grammar.
Have you thought about trying Dallas?

Seattle to Galveston must have proven to be quite a change!
