It really is too bad.

Now when people come visit they ask me to take them to see things and I have to tell them there's paid parking there. So then they ask me to just drop them off instead of offering to pay for the ride by paying the parking fee for all of us or even offering to split it. I just don't get invited.

Then I also regret when new places open on the Strip and I want to go try them out but realize I'll have to pay parking too and that's a deterrent. I tell myself I'll wait until someone wants to join me and then it will be worth the trip. Then months later I still haven't gone and may never. It looks like they're all going this way of paid parking.

I'm definitely not going to pay to park to go shop at their malls.

You'd think there would be a provision for those who buy something in a store at a casino, eat at the restaurants, etc could present a receipt and get free parking but I don't think that's the case. I think such a move would be a smart business move.

I thought locals park free. Did that change?

Did some research. Guess I'm not going to the Strip any time soon. Of course I don't except for shows now, but I guess that will stop as well. Plenty to do away from there so it's not a loss.

I agree. I think eventually something will have to be worked out for places like the Fashion Show Mall or tenants at the Caesars Forum Shops as those are places that locals still visit for shopping.

With the exorbitant rent that these stores inside the malls / casinos have to pay, I would imagine that they would be complaining about their potential customers being charged for parking.

MGM will end free self parking for locals 12/29/2016.

Cosmo will not offer free self parking for locals.

Caesars is scheduled to start charging for locals sometime 1st quarter 2017.

Wynn/Encore will initially only charge for valet but insiders say that paid self parking is coming in 2017.

We should create more threads for every single casino that charges for parking. Because, you know, it came as a huge shock /sarcasm

It's going to suck when the Fashion Show Mall decides to charge for parking. That is the closest I get to the strip on a regular basis.

Who needs to go there? Who REALLY needs to go there? Put your visitors in a cab and wait for them at your local. Easy.
