Hope you Lola, your hubby and you Greg..are OK...my prayers are with you that you are not affected by this...

Unfortunately, that's the trend here in town during the past few years...foreign born drs. setting up practice and running these type of facilities. Some of them I can't even understand when they speak.

Greg, have you displayed any of the symptoms of the three potential infections? In the paper, on the front page, it gave the symptoms for each of the diseases in question.

I have no symptoms, but still scarey,as I was within one month of the "target" date. Whatever is, is---but my situation was handled in a way that I have decided to seek counsel on this matter. The straw that broke the camel's back, if you will.

Are you going to go to your doctor and get tested for the diseases. Because I think you should, just to be safe?

And to think, I'm due for my annual physical next month and I was going to ask my family doctor if, at my age, I should go for a precautionary colonoscopy...I think I might hold off now

Apparently, five of the six cases were all on ONE day in question---hopefully this was an abberation not a regular occurance.

Greg, I still wouldn't chance it. If they claim that so far, the only known cases in suspect are from all in the same day, be assured it was more than that....

Please get yourself checked out, k?...

Absolutely, but I'm trying to think positve, as maybe the regulatory agencies are doing a superb job--and not panic.

we had a similar problem happen here on the Island back in december. Some anesthesiologist was discovered to be re-using syringes in administration of pain meds. many of his patients were retired FDNY and NYPD, and yes, many worked at ground zero. there was something like 300-400 patients that were put at risk, and the worst part was, it took the health department nearly three years to notify patients of the exposure

My thoughts are with you guys... I hope everyone is ok.

If you don't have symptoms, I wouldn't panic at all. It's definately scary, but I think you're OK.

If you had told me that you had some of the symptoms of any of the three diseases they listed, then if I were you, I'd start to worry. And panic.

Your doctor should be able to discuss with you the symptoms and incubation of the diseases in question. And depending upon the procedure you had done, the potential for you to be infected. Make sure you ask all those questions.

And besides, I already put in a good word for you. When I'm on your side, you have a good friend, indeed.

Please keep me and all of us, informed what is going on with you. We'll have plenty to discuss at the DDO for sure!

I remember my sister telling me about that...what's up with these medical practictioners?

Whatever happened to the Hippocratic Oath? Here's an excerpt of the original version...

I WILL FOLLOW that method of treatment which according to my ability and judgment, I consider for the benefit of my patient and abstain from whatever is harmful or mischievous. I will neither prescribe nor administer a lethal dose of medicine to any patient even if asked nor counsel any such thing nor perform the utmost respect for every human life from fertilization to natural death and reject abortion that deliberately takes a unique human life.
