I got a nice letter the other day from a real agent that said she had buyers looking in my neighborhood for a house like mine. She didn't give any details like they were from China or anything. Is it for real....or more like spam?

Spam. We get those all the time. The agent is trolling for clients. If there was somebody specifically interested in YOUR place, you would have been approached differently.

Call her up and tell her you would be glad to do a one time showing.

If she sets it up she meant it. If she wants to come over and talk about your house she did not.

We do it once in a while when we have a real live buyer with specific requirements. But it is always quite personalized and the letters are individualized.

and we don't solicit the listing. Though we always leave a couple of cards in case they decide they want to later.

Sounds like a desperate agent trolling. If they were serious, I'm sure she'd have contacted the homes currently in foreclosure/short sales and such in your neighborhood. Don't you have homes in foreclosures/ short sales in your area?
