HI

I've been living here in Vegas for 13 years and still have issues with an indoor dust. My house has about 1300 sq ft. Is there any good air purifier ?

Change your furnace filter once a month and buy a filter that is good for removing allergens in the air. It will help a lot.

Build your own using box fans and furnace filters

I lived in a house for two years that had a lot of dust in one bedroom, but the other rooms seemed fine. When we were getting ready to move out and replace the wall-to-wall carpeting, we found a big pile of drywall dust under the carpeting in that bedroom. Apparently the original builder never managed to sweep that room before it was carpeted and the dust was working it's way up and out whenever we walked across the carpet. Hopefully my lungs didn't suffer any long-term consequences.

Alas, it isn't true.

The purpose of the furnace filter is to protect the furnace (a/c). It is NOT to cut down on the quantity or size of particulates in the air inside the house. Moreover, it is bad for the furnace motor if you use a filter that is "good for allergens in the air." It causes unnecessary restrictions on the flow of air, making the motor run harder & hotter, and cutting down on its life expectancy. The best filter to use is actually an inexpensive filter that is good enough to capture the larger particles including human hair and pet fur that can damage the motor.

Just going into & out of your house is sufficient to replenish those smaller particles.
