Relocating to Nevada ...Henderson or Summerlin?
I live in Richmond, VA will be relocating to Henderson Nevada can someone please give me information on rentals I am single no need to buy right now, I travel with my work as a Health care Auditor. Trying to get closer to my Grandchildren who live in Hawaii but I do not want to live on a Island in Hawaii. I live in a very nice area in Richmond VA clean, multi racial working people I would like to find this in Nevada? I was told Henderson or Summerlin? I welcome your input on the matter?

The Las Vegas metro as a whole is fairly diverse, so you'll get that aspect no matter where you live.
As for the "clean" factor, I'll agree that Summerlin and Henderson are some of the nicest. The far northwest is fairly nice too.

If you are working in Henderson rent in Henderson. For all practical purposes Summerlin and Henderson are interchangable. Pick the one convenient to where you work.

Between the two cities which has more to offer for a single female? I enjoy shopping , going to the movies, going out to dinner and roller skating, as Far as the Job I travel in and out of the USA so either city would be ok as far as where I would be working what is the cost of living like? Average cost for things there? I live fairly modest within my means.

They both have nearly the exact same businesses in nearly identical looking strip malls and local casinos. One is SE and the other is NW. In fact, you can probably find identical homes available from the same builder in both locations.
Summerlin isn't a city, it's a master planned community. Henderson is an actual city with its own mayor, police force, etc. Henderson also has poorer and underdeveloped areas. Summerlin for the most part does not.
For your job, Henderson is more convenient to the airport.

I would actually say that Henderson is more friendly to young singles. You'd be in close proximity to local hotspots, such as the District at Green Valley Ranch, as well as all the nightlife on the strip.
Summerlin has singles, but it has more of a family-oriented suburb feel.

If you are just looking to rent for the time being, I'm agreeing with the others -stick to the Henderson area. Henderson is a bit closer to the airport (of course depending on where in Henderson you are), but you also have access to shopping at The District or even at the Galleria. You might even find a suitable rental in the Green Valley Ranch area, which would have you pretty close to major highways and the airport corridor.
Summerlin is just as nice, but as radraja said, it is definitely more family-oriented. I guess it all depends what you are looking for.

I found your post interesting because I've actually lived in both Summerlin and Henderson. Personally, I've enjoyed living in Summerlin better; I just found the area to be prettier, and I also liked the restaurants/shopping and just plain feel of the area better than Henderson.
I originally relocated to Henderson to be closer to work, but am planning to move back to Summerlin if we (me and my fiance) decide to reside here in Las Vegas for a while. Objectively, I think both areas have pretty much the same things; of course, Henderson is closer to the airport, so that would be something to think about if that is a priority for you.
