Years ago there were several threads about this. A friend bought one about 7 years ago for $83k and most go for more He gets a few percent a year - so-so but of course gets to stay and lock his belongings away. Management company seems greedy.

As a place to stay however I love it. So nice and quiet-friendly . Dogs are allowed. From my 4 times there the best views are say 816 817 916 917 they have both the strip view yet a fairly close one of the pool too . I think because its always so highly rated for its location - one long block from the strip- as well as value -it could be a good investment down the road. Remember these condos are large 941 sq ft and sold for $600k in October 2006,.

Any thoughts?

If you like stay there, that's fine. I wouldn't put a nickle into it. The entire vacation ownership industry, in all its forms, is a giant scam, perpetuated to separate stupid investors from their money . Stay away.

Here's a thought: the price in 2006 is completely irrelevant.

Well the 2006 is just an aside, but it did reflect the past market and unless there was an 80% markup - what the cost of the units may have been. The point was that they are quality condos- lots of space for the money- nice balconies and views.

I can't disagree with the investment value -it probably depends on supply and demand for hotel rooms over the long term. These units are much nicer than what a person can get in Miami Beach for 4 times the price.

The units are not in Miami Beach or Santa Monica. And where they are they are not worth their replacement value.
