What about cutting down and hauling an entire tree away?

Idiot renter planted a palm tree right next to the house and now it's so tall it's pushing up against the roof's eaves

I just cut down 5 (big guys) cost me a grand. So, I'd say 200 tops, probably cheaper if you have them do other work at the same time (let him make a day of it)

Man I wish I could remember my old gardener’s phone number. He was a fecken master, and kind and trustworthy. His company was called Tap Green. I doubt he has a web presence.

I was dumb enough to plant a tiny palo verde too close to my house. He fixed the problem AND saved the tree. I swear this man could not bear to see a plant die, or leave a job undone.

If I find his business card, I will share.

I think the last one is a large city wide operator.

Going rate is $35. Goes up to $50/55 for overgrown ones. They may charge a premium for a single tree.
Wish i would've known about this, I paid $120 last year with trash clean-up & pickup. smh

Jesus, you did well... I had two to bring down and it cost me about $1400, and that was almost the cheapest quote!

We had a guy going work in the neighborhood stop by when he saw me outside and offered to trim our two 40 foot palms. I got him to to the job for $35/tree and made sure he didn't take too much off. Some of these guys trim the tops down to almost nothing and I don't like that.

We also had a eucalyptus tree in the back that had gotten so big that the branches were cracking under their own weight and it was about to fall on the house. We had a different crew come out to take that down and including the stump removal charged $800. That was about the average price I got from a few different companies.

I still have a pine tree I'd like to remove but that will have to wait a while. They planted it too close to the block wall and the roots are now pushing the wall up.

As an ex-nursery worker I can tell you that there are a lot of homeowners and "professionals" that plant too close to things. Plants are put in based on current size, not mature size. Another rule that is often missed is, "Look up." You would not believe how many trees we had to have removed because of power lines.

We got a notice from our HOA to have our 2 trees trimmed so we contacted our agent to arrange for them to be trimmed.

The initial quote was for $380!

When we queried this they said that this was for a company to come out with a cherry picker and that was their minimum charge.

Needless to say we asked them to find someone else and I think we had them done for around $100.
