Give it a few weeks, and check the court's website. If this is his first ticket in a 3 year period, chances are excellent it has alreasy been amended to a parking violation, no traffic school, no points. Pay online and go on with your life.

Go to court and tell the judge that you are a "sovereign citizen" and the "laws" do not apply to you and the government has no right to impose them upon you.

I took the court route one time, and I lost! AARP was saying that 50% of the time if you went to court the charges might be dropped.

First step, go to the court house to plea. Pled not guilty. They offered to reduce the fine by $90, but I decided to gamble and go to my first court date. Encouraged by others showing up and the police officer not showing up, charges dismissed entirely. At this court date, they offered to reduce my fine even more, but I decided to gamble further.

2nd court date, again, others showed, no police officer showed up, charges dismissed. An offer to reduce the fine even more, I rejected it.

3rd court date, lo and behold, my motorcycle cop shows up and they socked to it to me, the full amount!
And I should have listened to my roommate, saying that motorcycle cops always show up for a court date.

Hey! It was a gamble with time on my hands!

If you decide to take the court route, have lots of free time on your hands.

In Henderson and North Las Vegas, even if you lose, you have to pay court costs!
